Lots of out of town visitors this past week, so I didn’t do any hiking. This afternoon I had loose time on my hands (Colleen and our company are in Tucson) so after an early supper I drove out to Lost Dutchman park and walked about 3/4-mile up Siphon Draw trail to get some views of the “front face” of the Superstitions.
The past couple of days have been unsettled with rain and fast moving cloud patterns. The rain has “turned on” the color, and I was hoping the clouds would provide some interesting lighting. The shots below cover a period of about an hour from late afternoon light to “just at sunset”, and from broken cloud/mostly clear to heavy clouds/almost overcast. It amazes me that minute-to-minute lighting variations make such different photographs.
Here endeth the narrative. Go in peace and enjoy the views.

Gorgeous photos. Hope to make it down there someday and see it for myself.
Awesome cloud display! Nice photos.
Thanks, Coleen. Turtles have more fun.
That ‘s the stuff!
Looks like something right out of a John Ford movie.
